Using Xinput, how do I access the Guide Button value that appears hidden

The above link is the structure used to find the state of all buttons on an Xinput controller except for one: the guide button.  The WButtons member should register an int of 1024 when the Guide Button is pressed down, but using Xinput it never registers. Every other button combination works however.  How can I get around this limitation?
